ANGLO
RECORDS

Independent label: Anglo Records was a DIY label. It managed at least two singles. 'Two Timer' b/w 'No Matter Where I Wander' by The Skysounds (11/1 and 11/2) and Wild Country's 'Song Of The Lonely Traveller' (11/5 and 11/6; 1972).  Each side had its own catalogue number; presumably there is an '11/3' b/w '11/4' out there somewhere.  Matrix numbers were in the TPMA-100s. The Skysounds record has 'Recording first published 1966' on it; if that refers to this Anglo issue it would indicate that the company put out three singles in six years, as the Wild Country record dates from 1972.  As schedules go, it seems a little on the thin side - was the Skysounds effort an early '70s reissue?  The Skysounds were a continuation of earlier group The Panthers and took their name from the Skyline Ballroom in Hull. where they were the resident house band. The band underwent numerous line-ups throughout their existence, The main line-up Linda Harrison (vocals) Albert Barley (guitar) Phil Parkman (drums) Tony Brown (organ / keyboards) Dereck Flower (saxophone)which recorded their 1966 single “No Matter Where I Wander”. Distributed By Anglo Records.
