Independent label: A.R.C Also Known As Associated Recordings Company. It's Parent Label: Was Allied Records Ltd. The company was also operating a pressing plant in London. Established in August 1955 by Marcel Rodd, originally to press and distribute a catalogue of nursery rhymes and bedtime stories. Later the company acquired the catalogue of the Concert Hall Record Club, the leading American manufacturer of budget line classical music. To distribute the records, Rodd established a mail order business with huge success and by the late 1950s Allied had grown into a successful manufacturer and direct-to-consumer distributor. In 1960 Allied bought the bankrupt Saga Records Ltd., including its large catalogue and in the 1970s they acquired Trojan Recordings Ltd. and along with it the catalog of Trojan Records.
