ELECTROLA
RECORDS
Independent label: Electrola Records managed at least one single.
A freebie for Willenhall Coachcraft, it was - and is - a Volkswagen dealer,
which suggests that the British version of the EP may have been pressed for
Volkswagen and imported by them as a freebie for their dealers to hand out.
Comparison with the few other records with similar catalogue numbers suggests
that the EP may date from the run up to Christmas 1968. A German version with
the same catalogue number but a different label, and the tracks are included on
a couple of LPs there as well, but sadly none has a date on it. The songs are
sung in German, despite the titles being given in English. It was a German
pressing for export to the U.K., seem to use the 7 PAL **** SM cat. no. system
(sometimes without the SM). Thanks to Robert Lyons For The
Info.
