Gala, owned by Musical & Plastics Industries, got much of its material from two American sources, Synthetic Plastics Company (SPC) and, as here, Arthur Shimkin. Shimkin created Golden Records in the 50s, using the likes of Crosby, Danny Kaye and Jimmy Durante to make records for children. Gala records was Manufactured by Selcol Products Ltd. Selcol and Selmer, of Organ and Amplifier fame, were both owned by Musical & Plastics Industries (MPI). Selcol also manufactured the much sought after 'Beatles' toy guitars and drum kits at their factory in Braintree, Essex, UK. Plastic products production ceased in late 1968, when Selmer moved it's production lines to the Braintree factory, from Holborn, London.
