Reggae label; part of the Trojan
group. Grape wasn't dedicated to the work of any particular
producer. It operated from 1967-73 and appeared in three forms:
Starting with a plain maroon colour design the Grape label changed to yellow
with a green logo (and some rather strange looking grapes) after the first
twenty odd issues. Similar in many ways to Green Door Grape was something of a
mixed bag with quality tunes by the likes of Gussie Clarke, Alvin Ranglin and
Keith Hudson rubbing shoulders with some instantly forgettable efforts (some but
not all of these originated in the UK). Manufactured And Distributed By Trojan /
