HINE
RECORDS
Hine Records was a DIY
label. Based at Clock House, Devenish Road, Ascot, Berkshire, SL5
9LX. As can be seen from its label, Paul Lucas's 'The Chastity Belt' (BB
EP-001) was recorded by a studio based in Maidenhead, which seems appropriate;
it was intended as a souvenir of his gigs in the Elizabethan Room at the White
Hart Hotel, in Sonning. The label layout is very similar to that used by
the MJB Recording and Transcribing Service, of Maidenhead. Production and second
guitar were by Mike Cooper, who recorded for Dawn in 1970-72. Cooper
recorded one of Paul Lucas's songs in 1965, which indicates that they were in
contact at that time; it seems likely therefore that this single is from around
that date. It managed one single. It issued singles in an BB EP-000
numerical series. Distributed By Hine
Records.
