Independent label: It managed at least two singles. It issued singles in KEE-EP-000 numerical series. Keepoint Records was a label of The Keepoint Recording Service. it was run by John Keel. It made records from the early 1960s until at least 1971, and while most of its products appear to have been private pressings it did in fact issue records: a 1964 10" disc by the National Youth Brass Band Of Great Britain, 'Youth Makes Music' (MLPB-10122), has a list of 'Keepoint records for your collection' on the back of its sleeve. At that point the company was operating out of premises in Manor Way, London SE3, but by the time that the EP shown came out it had moved to Bromley, South Kent. John Keel was often to be seen in the front of the audience at Brass Band concerts in the south of England, making recordings which he then offered for sale to the band; and indeed many of Keepoint's records seem to be of Brass Bands. The majority of its products were in the 12" or - in the early days - 10" format but it managed several 7" EPs. One EP from the 1970s: 'Christmas At Ravens Wood School' by 'A Section' of the school choir (KPP/EP-7150), which came out in 1971. Tracks on it were 'Once In Royal David's City', 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night', 'Ding Dong', and 'O Come, All Ye Faithful'. Numbering of Keepoint records was in an (x)x000 series: the '000's ran consecutively but the '(x)x' changed according to the format: it was 7 for 7" records, 10 for 10" ones and 12 for 12". For the larger formats, prefixes could be MBLP or KEE/LP, while EP prefixes could be KRS or KEE/EP.
