UK religious / gospel
label Pickering and Inglis Ltd., publishers of religious
material, had offices in Glasgow and London. They owned two labels,
Redemption and Sunbeam. Most of the Redemption records was Religious music.
Sunbeam labels contained material aimed for the children's market.
Redemption Records had an odd way of numbering their records. They appear
to have allotted blocks of ten numbers to each of their recording artists –
Anton Marco had the 5000s, the Scottish Border Quartet the 5010s, the Biola
Choir the 5020s, and so on. Thus the second record by the Scottish Border
Quartet was numbered 5011. Most of these numbers were not used, which resulted
in there being large gaps in the catalogue numbering. Manufactured Decca
