Independent Yorkshire label: Malconi Records. It managed at least one single. The Newfolks - On Record - MALCONI MCD EP 57. It issued singles in an MCD EP-00 numerical series. Distributed By Malconi Records. The Newfolks were a group of students from Kingston Upon Hull College Of Education (nowadays known as Hull College, of course). Band Members were Sandra Malloy (Vocals) Tony Hurlin (Guitar / Vocals) Gil Howard (Guitar) Fergus Hope (Harmonica / Whistle). Their only known release on this label, is the five-track EP, “The Newfolks On Record”, which was recorded in 1965 as a commemorative record for students leaving the college that year – students had to pre-order and pay for their copy up front. It is doubtful that very many records were pressed – possibly as few as 50 copies. Malconi Records Former Address: Studio Two 592 Hessle Road Hull Yorkshire. MCD LP 36 was a Private pressing extremely rare. Believed to be one of only six copies pressed. The sleeve is handmade with cut-out "Beatleesque" figures.
