MERRY
MAKERS
RECORDS
An obscure but fairly long-lived label dedicated
to West Indian music. Merry Makers seems to have come on the scene
around 1968, and it was still going in 1976. It issued at least
fourteen singles, featuring a mixture of Gospel, Calypso and Reggae music; none
of them are commonly seen nowadays. Numbering was in a M-000 and
MEM-000 numerical series. The label came in many colours, the earlier
of the two being blue with silver printing. Thanks to Robert Lyons for the
onfo.
