MJB
RECORDS
MJB Recording and Transcription Services were
based in Maidstone, and were responsible for more usual recordings presumably
aimed at helping people to learn either to do shorthand or type to dictation.
The contents are basically minutes of meetings. They seem to have been in
business from the early '60s and into the early '70s, though the rarity of their
products makes it difficult to give dates with any certainty. These EPs are
probably from 1964. MJB's custom pressings, which appeared on different private
labels, have a matrix number with a 'BEV' prefix, which is one way to spot
them.
